Alien Invades Sarasaland! - Again!

Tatanga. A name that still strikes fear into the hearts of many. Even now, years after his invasion of our fair nation and the capture of our beloved Queen, Daisy. Even after Mario's valiant rescue and saving of our land.

But now it seems an even greater threat has come to Sarasaland.

Yesterday afternoon, thousands watched the skies in awe and terror as a giant vortex of fire appeared overhead without warning. It reportedly moved over the bamboo forests of the Chai Kingdom for several seconds before vanishing, raining flames and destruction as it went. Local authorities have confirmed that fires were started and strange metals were recovered at the scenes, but that the fires have been successfully contained. Thankfully, no injures were reported.

​Researchers now believe that the so called "vortex" was, in fact, an alien spacecraft in disguise. They now have reason to believe that it might possibly be a scout ship testing our defenses for a later invasion. The queen, while she could not be reached personally for a comment, nevertheless advises citizens to remain calm and not panic. She has since doubled the number of guards patrolling the kingdoms and further advises her people to remain indoors after dark as a safety precaution. No word as of yet on whether or not help will be called in from the Mushroom Kingdom to deal with this threat.

​In other news, one eyewitness claims to have seen the actual pilot of the alleged spacecraft. The eyewitness, who wishes to remain anonymous for fear of the alien “hunting him down” and “eating his brains”, describes the creature as “a terrifying, gigantic dragon”. He then went on to say that the alien changed its form using a “strange, glowing, handheld device”.

​“I saw a bright light come out of this thing it was holding. [The alien] shrank right before my eyes! Turned itself into a yoshi!”

​Continuing the interview, he goes on to state that the alien spotted him watching and tried to hypnotize him into coming closer, and that it was only through sheer force of will that he broke the trance, managing to surprise and wound the alien before escaping. It was at this point that the trauma of the event caught up with him, forcing us to cut the interview short. However, he was able to give us a fair description of the alien’s disguise.

The creature is described as a green yoshi with a blue belly, a yellow shell, and brown dorsal spines. Other notable features include two blue horns on its head, a light green, flame-shaped spine on its tail, white feathered wings, and brown shoes. The alien also has a red coil tattooed around its right wrist. The glowing device it wields may be disguised as a red rock, although researchers believe it capable of taking other shapes, similar to the Pixel Blade sword famously wielded by local hero, Gaijin Goombah.

The alien is currently unable to fly due to a wing injury inflicted by our witness, but is able to breath fire, and still possesses its glowing weapon. As such, this creature should considered armed and extremely dangerous. Citizens are advised to report any sightings of the alien to their local authorities immediately and to not engage it themselves.  There is also a 1,000 coin reward for help in capturing the alien's ship, and a 2,000 coin reward being offered to any bounty hunters able to capture the alien alive. Hunters are to bring their catch to the nearest royal guard station for evaluation. Anyone who presents a false alien will not be paid. The alien was last seen in the bamboo forests of the Chai Kingdom.
